The USA Prog and Datasmart 3+ need to be activated every 30 days. This is also how you update the software and firmware, and activate new software or optinos you purchase.
To activate your programmer, you need to install PC_link.exe and install the driver for your computer. For Windows XP, download the 32 bit driver, for Windows 7, download the 64 bit driver. It does not work on Windows Vista. To open the driver you will need Winzip or Winrar. You can download Winrar.
Unzip the files of the driver to somewhere so you can find them. Install the test adapter to the bottom of your programmer, plug the power cord into it, and then plug the USB cable into the programmer and the computer. The computer will find a driver for it so you need to update the driver. Once the driver is updated, open the new program you installed earlier called PC_link.
Once you set it up, you will not need to install anything again, you will only need to plug your programmer into the computer and click activate.

DSPIII+ Activation Update
The software to activate and update your programmer is on the DSPIII+. You will need to install "Microsoft Activesync on your Windows XP or Windows 7 machine to activate and update. You do not need to install a driver.
